Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, Fairytale Brides on a Shoestring is a nonprofit approved 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible.
What condition does my dress need to be in?
Please clean your dress before donation. If you are unable to clean your dress please consider covering the costs of cleaning. As a general rule, we accept dresses new, like new condition and 5 years old and less. If you feel you have a dress that is vintage in style or is something today’s bride would still consider please contact us for confirmation before sending your donation in.
Do you accept other types of donations?
Absolutely! Veils, sashes, tiaras, and all the extras that complete the look are acceptable donations.
How do I deliver my donation?
Bring your donation during regular hours. It is always a good idea to call and confirm when you will be stopping by. We are staffed solely by volunteers and sometimes we may have a last minute change in our operating hours or mail your dress along with the completed donation form to our address:
Fairytale Brides on a Shoestring, 154 Congressional Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20852
Our main contributions go regularly to the Victims Rights Foundation and Suited for Change. We give twice a year to Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation and fund a student in Haiti through St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church as well as West Africa through the Victims Rights Foundation. WE also donate to Kids Wish Network, Emerge, Inc. Our biggest donations go to help Rockville H.S. Seniors to attend the first year at Montgomery College. These tuition donations are funded through the sale of our Couture Collection. How’s that for a wide variety of donations for one non-profit that has only existed for 3 years?
